Common questions

Can we do real fundraising without a development director?

Yes, and most of our clients do. A development director is a full-time salary that a small nonprofit usually cannot justify. What you actually need is the system a development director would build: a donor pipeline, a grant calendar, a stewardship schedule, and someone accountable for running them. We build the system and run it with you, at a fraction of a salaried hire.

How long before we see fundraising results?

Grant cycles and donor relationships move on their own timeline, so anyone promising revenue in 30 days is guessing. In the first 60 to 90 days you should expect the infrastructure to be in place: a clean donor database, a documented pipeline, an active grant calendar, and stewardship running on schedule. Revenue follows the system, usually inside the first full campaign cycle.

Do you write grant applications for us?

We handle grant research, track deadlines, and support the application itself. Funders can tell when a proposal was written by someone who has never met your program staff, so the strongest applications are collaborative: we build the structure, the narrative, and the supporting materials, and your team supplies the program detail that only you have.

Our donor data is a mess. Is that a problem?

It is the normal starting point, not a disqualifier. Most small nonprofits come to us with donors spread across a spreadsheet, an email platform, and someone's memory. Cleaning and consolidating that data is usually the first thing we do, because a pipeline built on bad data just automates the mess.

What is a donor pipeline?

A donor pipeline is a documented view of every supporter and where they stand: who has given, who is ready for a larger ask, who has lapsed and needs re-engagement, and who is being cultivated for the first time. Without one, fundraising becomes a scramble every time you need money. With one, you always know who to call next and why.
